1 Unzip the download
Right-click initialflow.zip → Extract All. Keep the folder
somewhere you'll find again — you'll point the browser at it next.
Don't run anything from inside the zip preview window. Windows shows the
contents without really extracting them, and the bridge will fail to start.
2 Install the browser extension
This is what types into the AI chat for you. Loaded as an unpacked
extension — no store install needed.
- Open the ⋯ menu (top-right of the browser) → Extensions
- Click Manage extensions
- Turn on Developer mode — in Edge it's at the bottom-left of the sidebar
(in Chrome it's the top-right of the page)
- Click Load unpacked and select the initialflow-extension folder
Once installed, the
sign-in page detects it
automatically — there's no ID to copy anywhere.
Seeing “Managed by your organisation”? A school or work profile can block
extension installs. If Load unpacked is greyed out, use a personal browser profile.
3 Start the bridge
The small program that connects your browser to Roblox Studio.
- Windows: double-click start.bat
- macOS: double-click MacOS_Start.command
A terminal window opens and stays open — that
means it's working. Minimise it, don't close it.
First run installs Python automatically if you don't have it, so it can take
a minute. On macOS you'll get a security warning the first time — click Done, then
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
4 Turn on MCP in Roblox Studio
One setting, once. This is what lets the AI read and edit your place.
- Open Roblox Studio and load any place
- Click the AI Assistant icon in the top-right corner of Studio
- In the Assistant panel, click ⋯ → Manage MCP Servers
- Turn on Enable Studio as MCP server
When it's working you'll see “N clients connected” under the toggle,
and the bridge terminal turns green.
Studio sometimes switches this back off after it updates itself. If the AI
suddenly stops responding, come back and toggle it off and on again.
5 Start building
- Go to chat.deepseek.com
and sign in — a free account is all you need
- Open a new chat. The InitialFlow bar appears above the message box
- Click Start Roblox agent
- Describe what you want:
“make a red platform that spins and kills the player on touch”
Completely free — InitialFlow types into your own AI chat, so there's no
API key and no usage cost. Gemini, Kimi, GLM, Qwen, Arena and Meta AI work too.
? Something not working
Nearly every problem is one of these three.
- Nothing happens in the AI chat — check the bridge terminal window is still open.
- “0 tools”, or Studio won't connect — in Studio toggle Assistant → ⋯ →
Manage MCP Servers → Enable Studio as MCP server off, then on again.
- Commands are refused — you're not signed in. Open the
sign-in page; it shows live status for every piece.
